wallaceburgcourierpress.ca David Gough Courier Press Friends and family will be honouring a local woman who died from cancer last week with a planned fivekilometre walk through town on April 30. Liz Sharrow, 32, had been battling cancer for the past 15 months. She died on March 27. A group of friends, family and other supporters will call themselves Liz's Warriors and at 10 a.m. on April 30 will take off from Taylor's Variety on Dufferin Avenue and head to her home on Duke Street. Th e walk was in the planning stages before Liz died. Organizers decided to not cancel the walk, but to continue on and celebrate and honour Liz. Sharrow's friend Carrie Locking is helping to organize the walk. Sharrow is an awesome person, Locking said. The pair have been good friends for about five years. "She is totally amazing." Liz Sharrow had a rare f o r m o f c a n c e r c a l l e d Ewing's sarcoma, where the cancer cells are found in the bones and soft tissue. The walk was set up to help raise funds for Sharrow's family. It's also for people to show Liz their love and support, Locking said. "Show that we're all supporting her with her battle with cancer," Locking said,

shortly before Sharrow died. Ryan Sharrow, Liz's husband, said it has been a long fi ght. "We've done multiple chemo(thearpies), lots of radiation, she has had spine surgery, transfusions ...basically she has lived in the hospital for the last year and a half." Over the past year and a bit, there have been a lot of trips back and forth for the Sharrows between Wallaceburg and London, where Liz has received the bulk of her treatment. The Sharrows have two boys, Dylan and Domnik.
